  • I slept.. hard which was nice and I hate to say it but I sure didn't miss the snoring last night lol  Most women hate when their husband leaves.. me I like a  week off every now and again lol It allows me to regroup and him as well. That's just the kind of couple we are and what works for us. I hate when he's gone for more than a few weeks, always did. Now those days are over and it's just going to be weird adjusting to the thought of no more tdy's or deployments etc. We spent so much of the beginning of our marriage apart that it's kind of weird to be at this point now. I'm glad we made it to this point though.. retirement is very much appreciated lol

I'm thinking it's a pizza night tonight.. Survivor and ER are on so you know where I'll be!

Oh and I just have to say Cheslea has found her groove in English finally! She's made nothing lower than a 93 so far and I'm so glad. She's even using all that "stupid grammer" heehee that she learned last semester! Softball tryouts are Monday and Tuesday and I'm hopeful for her. She's done well and they 've been playing her at shortstop. So far they only have 27 girls out there at conditioning and there are two teams of 15 sooooo she should make it this year.

    Ok.. back to work

    Have a great Thursday

  • This is as close to relieved as a smiley face gets on here.. They made it safely to his Mom's in Yakima. He was so sweet to Jess and stopped at Snowqualmie Pass to take her out to lunch. They had a snowball fight with the 14+ in snow base up there. Then they rolled on into Yakima about an hour or so ago. I'm so glad he's there and spending time with his family. His Aunt was there to greet him along with his Mom.

Jess is amazed at the "Steve" wall his mom has up lol She was like "MOM you don't have that many pictures of us up. He's the baby.. what can I say?

I'm still going.. which I can't believe. I hope I sleep tonight. I'm such a chicken lol but I have Chelsea and the dog.. we'll be fine lol

Oh and word to the wise.. if you copy something and you don't want other's to read it.. remember to clear your cache lmao Almost had a huge mishap from a chat earlier today... at work! YIKES!

  • You may not want to wander very far from your
bedroom today, and that is fine, Rosemary. Take this opportunity to
stick close to home and get things done around the house that make you
feel like your energy is an important part of the atmosphere. Hang new
pictures, read inspiring articles, and laugh at magazine cartoons out
that inspire your creative nature and humorous side. Be soft and gentle
with your words and actions. Just take it easy today!

Gosh don't I wish I could do that today. I've been up since 4am, driven to Raleigh and back and came home got Chelsea out of bed, ready for school, helped with homework and took her to school. Now I'm exhausted and I've got the rest of my day ahead of me! JOY lol

Steve and Jess just took off from RDU headed towards Phoenix and then on to Seattle. I'm jealous because I wish I could have gone too but it's fine. We looked at trips for this summer and as much as I'd love to spend 10,000.00 on a family vacation for 10 days lol I can't. We were dreaming of a European vacation..hahaha So I think we decided to look at renting a cabin in the mountains for a week. Something relaxing and peaceful.. that's my idea of a vacation.

Ok in between typing this I loaded the dishwasher and did a hand load. Maybe I should get up early more often lol

    Have a terrific hump day

  • I long for the peaceful sanctity I once had in my little german apartment. I long for snowy days spent reading and cuddling. I long for serinity and quiet of mind. I long for time to spend doing the things I love. I long for simple times.

I have so much to do and so little time to do it. Hopefully I can make myself take care of some of the things I should do while Steve and Jess are away. Like sort through things that need to be gotten rid of, and actually get rid of them. Clean out our closet and organize it. Of course I still have to work lol so I'll do this in the evenings. I'm supposed to go to the gym tonight but I think I'll hold off till tomorrow night and spend a quiet evening in with my favorite guy and girls.

I hope you have a wonderful Tuesday

  • So I finally made it to Hobby Lobby yesterday and well I was disappointed in ours. It was more furniture and less crafting items and their scrapbook section left something to be desired outside of their paper section. They had far less to offer than Michaels and so I don't see me going back there. AC Moore has a better selection as well than our Hobby Lobby so I was bummed. I've been waiting to go back into a Hobby Lobby since 2001 when I went to Utah and met a friend from college and she took me there. She loved the place so much she got a part time job there lol

I have to go back out into the world of shopping today with Chelsea and get her softball gear and some exercise stuff for PE. Remember when we had PE all four years of school? Well she only has to satisfy one credit to graduate! I think it's crazy! Also remember when we had to buy our pe clothes from the school? They don't do that anymore either!

I could careless about the superbowl today lol but I'm looking forward to the food and seeing my friend's sister. She is going to be in the crowd for the Stone's concert! So I'm glad we got our TiVo going and we can record it so we can find her.

    Other than that.. quiet weekend!

  • For those of us on the weight loss journey here's a challange for you which comes from my comical experience on the eliptical trainer ...

Why do you want to loose weight?

What do you hope to gain from this experience?

What's the first thing you are going to buy when you reach your goal weight?

You don't have to answer here in my blog or in public if you don't want but I just thought it would be helpful as we walk this journey together to inspire us as to why we are doing this.

Thanks for the response I got.. here are my answers to my own questions.

    1. I want to loose weight because it's time for me to take care of me. All my life I've taken care of others, put their needs before my own and made sure they were happy. It's time for me to take care of my body, and to reach a healthy weight and look the way I want to look.

    2. I hope to gain more insight about myself in that I want to be healthy, mind, body and soul and in order to do part of that I need to be a healthy weight. I want to learn to set boundaries and goals and stick to them. I want to cook healthy without thought.. meaning for it to be second nature. I have children and one day they will have children.. the things I teach them about healthy eating might carry forward and I'll be around to play with my grandkids

    3. The first thing I'm going to buy myself is a pair of jeans that make me look sexy and hot and that make my husband swoon

  • I cannot even begin to tell you how happy I am it is Friday! I am in need of some rest and relax. It's been a helluva court week and it's finally coming down to a nice even keel. We got some big cases off our docket though so that is awesome. We have new ones coming in behind them lol but at least they aren't ready for trial yet. I've got 5 trial note books to prepare and well it's time consuming and tedius because I like to make sure there are copies of everything ready for exhibits and opposing counsel. It's probably one of my favorite things to do outside of research and drafting pleadings.

Nothing much on the agenda this weekend. Laundry and getting Jess and Steve ready for their trip. Maybe this weekend I'll actually get a chance to clean my room and get it neat again. Although I may just save that till next weekend.

Nothing much else to report .. but that's a good thing!

    Have a great weekend!

  • I attempted to work out last night and it was a rude awakening. I am so out of shape it's not funny. I hadn't gone 2 minutes on the eliptical trainer and I was wheezing and thinking "What the hell do I want to be thinner for? I'm fine the way I am." So I got off the machine and caught my breath and then got back on for another 12 minutes. It was a start but I think when we go to the gym I'll stick to the treadmill until I build up some strength and lung capacity lol

We went to my friends house last night to help her paint and put her son's bathroom back together. It looks wonderful and I can't wait to tile my kitchen. It's going to be tiled in a tuscan stone in an oatmeal color. I just have to buy the tiles a little at a time until we get enough to do the kitchen. I wanted it tiled when we built it but couldn't afford his price so we waited. We're also going to tile the countertops eventually as well.

Steve and Jess have their tickets and they fly out next Wednesday and come back the following Wednesday. Jess is super excited and Steve's happy he's going to see his Mom before her surgery. We just found out she is going to have back surgery on the 14th due to some issues with her Lupus and it effecting her back. I think it's dangerous as she's had many grand mal seizures and several strokes as well. I'm glad he'll see her before she goes in just in case. She's in her 60's and has lived a very long time after her diagnosis of Systemic Lupus which is the more deadly form of Lupus. Steve was tested and he is not a carrier of the gene so our girls shouldn't develop lupus. His sisters have it and so does our niece.

I had a dream the other night that I was turning 123 years old and I was talking to my great grandchildren about having been married to their GGrandpa for a 100 years. They were giggling saying "no way" lol because the joke Grandpa always told the kids was he'd been married to their grandma for a hundred years and it was finally true. I had some cute grandkids too and a lot of them!

And on that note.. Have a wonderful Thursday!
