I'm feeling sentimental.. I don't know why but I do get moods that just make my heart smile and it's nice to feel that way. Your heart sings a light song and you catch yourself humming along. For some reason after a long day of work, where I screwed up twice today, I still came home and felt happy.
A friend of mine recently discovered Neil Diamond. I think it's cute because I think he's awesome. Well except for that one song "Cracklin Rosie" and that's just because it's my nickname and my brother used to say he was singing about me cracking up. Stupid kid stuff lol But I used to sing "Love on the rocks.. ain't no big surprise.. " and Sweet Caroline.. bumbumbum.. good times never seem so good.. hehee Enjoy his music Popcorn!
I also think of Seals and Croft too when I am nostalgic about the 70's. I remember riding through the Holland tunnel and listening to Summer Breeze as we went in to the tunnel and then loosing it as we got further in. Of course that was an AM station because I don't think there were many if any at all.. fm stations. Now I've got jasmin blowing through the windows of my mind.
You know what I remember most about the 70's.. feeling like everything in the world was just wonderful. There was a war ending but you'd not have known it outside of the songs we sang on the way to Brownies. Life was so simple then... and I wish it was that simple today.
I think I seriously ended up in the wrong time period!
Anyway, that's for another night.. thanks for reading the ramble

hehehe!! i love listening to big hits of the 60's on yahoo music! makes me feel old
but it's the music i grew up listening to. maybe i'll have to check out the 70's. glad you're in such a good mood!!
I love Neil Diamond and others from that decade as well. It's always nice to go down memory lane, makes us appreciate our lives.
Have a good night!
Awwww, you said Popcorn!
This music brings back memories for me, but only because this is stuff my mom listened to. I'm not old enough to actually "remember" the music, lol. (I'm calling you old)
Awwww, "Popcorn"!
I'm with you Rose! I remember tv being simple yet entertaining (not violent or full of sex...yea... I'm sounding old).... I remember little things being 'new'... I hate fortrell tho (sp). I had this hidious outfit...total 70s.... plaid purple pants with solid purple bell bottoms with a matching purple ribbed turtle neck... THAT I do not miss
Next era...the 80s
Love Neil Diamond and Seals and Crofts. Sweetness!
For a minute there I thought you were older - then you mentioned listening while being driven to Brownies! Made me laugh. Although the music was fun, the times were turbulent. It's probably why I'm so political today. But the music sometimes transports me to that time & I can actually feel the moments - in the 60's: at the sock hop, or at my cousin's when we were practicing the Twist (and we were good! Won contests!).... In the '70's: rocking my new daughter, visiting friends in their apartments decorated with brick & board bookshelves, driving across country to our new duty station. Now the 80's - that's the music I play to clean house! Can't beat the disco beat! Thanks for the walk down memory lane!
Popcoooooorrrrrrnnnn!!! Isn't that how Bea used to say it? HEHE.
I remember the music from my youth, as well, so I'm sure Lisa would call me old, too! She's so mean, that Lisa
I haven't thought about Seals and Croft in ages! I love their music. I grew up with the 60's music and Tiger Beat magazine, Shindig and American Bandstand!
I barely remember Seals and Croft stuff....
